Flu comes early
Flu is on the increase this Christmas with the number of recorded cases already reaching levels usually seen in January and February.
Recent figures suggest that there are 40 flu cases per 100,000 people - the highest number since the winter of 2000 – 2001 when they went into epidemic proportions.
According to the Health Protection Agency the best ways to decrease your chances of getting the flu are to practise regular hand washing and good respiratory hygiene – covering mouth and nose when sneezing, using tissues and disposing of them correctly.
And if you start to feel symptoms pelargonium is the number one herbal remedy. Research shows it can help to kick-start your body’s natural killer cells to fight the infection as well as helping to relieve typical cold symptoms such as a sore throat and nasal congestion. It may also put a stop to secondary infections such as bronchitis.
Pelargonium can be found in Kaloba®
