Mint for IBS

Recent research from Canada published in the British Medical Journal shows that taking peppermint oil can be more effective than muscle relaxants or fibre for easing symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

In the study, which looked at 38 trials involving 2,500 patients, almost half of all sufferers found their symptoms disappeared after taking the natural remedy, while only one in five patients found relief after using anti-spasmodic drugs and just one in eleven after using fibre.
