CHERRIES SHOWN TO REDUCE BLOOD PRESSURE

When it comes to reducing high blood pressure, research from Northumbria University in Newcastle shows that drinking cherry juice could be as effective as medication. The male participants in the small study, who all had early signs of high blood pressure, saw a seven per cent reduction after drinking 60ml of Montmorency cherry juice a day compared to drinking a fruit-flavoured cordial.

YOGURT LINKED TO LOWER BMI

Finding it difficult to manage your weight? A yogurt a day could help. A recent review of 22 studies found a link between eating yogurt and a lower body mass index, smaller waist measurement and a reduced rate of weight gain. Go for natural yoghurt watch out for added sugars in fruit-flavoured varieties.

It’s not just your legs that feel weary after exercise, your eyes can suffer too. Vigorous activity has been found to slow rapid eye movements.
