ARE YOU GETTING ENOUGH VITAMIN D?

Sun exposure isn’t always enough to maintain good levels of vitamin D. Recent research[1] found that Chinese Malaysian women living in Kuala Lumpur still needed additional supplementation of at least 25 µg in order to maintain adequate blood levels. That’s more than double the minimum daily dosage recommended by Public Health England. It’s certainly further confirmation that vitamin D supplements are a must all year round.

THE IMPORTANCE OF FIBRE

Upping your fibre intake, especially from wholegrain cereals, could help protect against osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee as well as easing discomfort according to a recent US study[2]. Opting for a high fibre breakfast cereal, wholemeal bread, brown rice, pasta, bulgur, barley, potatoes in their skins, pulses, plenty of veg and fruit is the way to go.
