There are plenty of natural remedies that can help soothe or even prevent migraine attacks.

FEVERFEW

Taking a daily dose of this common herb may help to prevent the frequency and severity of your attacks.  Some studies show that symptoms such as nausea and vomiting are also greatly reduced. To be most effective, feverfew needs to be taken daily without a break. It can take a couple of months for it to start working at optimal levels. While feverfew doesn’t work for everyone others find it invaluable.

VITAMIN B12

This vitamin is essential for healthy nerve function. One study showed that when combined with magnesium and feverfew, it reduced the incidence of migraines by 50%.

MAGNESIUM

This mineral is essential for the health and function of nerves and muscles. Studies have shown that migraine sufferers have a tendency to be deficient in magnesium. A dose of 400mg daily may be enough to help reduce migraine attacks in some people.

PEPPERMINT OIL OR LAVENDER OIL

Applied to the temples, these essential oils can provide instant, soothing relief.
